Hybrid Supa Slats in action: dairy modernisation for more efficient farming, increased slurry storage, and cow comfort

Having used our products in other areas of their farm, when Andrew and Richard Pidcock-Matkin and family decided to refurbish one of their dairy buildings, they came to us to help them incorporate robotic milking, extend their slurry stores, and introduce the latest developments in hybrid flooring for hoof health and cow comfort.

WOLFENDEN PRODUCTS USED THROUGHOUT INCLUDING:

L WALL UNITS AT DIFFERENT DEPTHS
SUPA DEEP SLURRY CHANNELS
HYBRID SLATTED COVERS
HYBRID MANHOLE COVERS

Results

More efficient milking through investment in the latest robotic milking technology.

Wolfenden’s new Hybrid Supa Slats helping cow’s become more confident with the new milking regime.

New slurry tanks at different heights to match the depth of existing tank – maximising the benefits of a refurbishment and avoiding unnecessary work and costs.

Andrew and Richard Pidcock-Matkin observe, “The rubber inserts in the slats are better for the cows’ feet. They don’t slip. With this better grip, cows are happy to stand on the flooring and it seems to have helped them get used to the new robotic milking system. It gives them more confidence.”
