New £14M grant opens soon: A big opportunity for Scottish farmers

Heads up, Scottish farmers – there’s major support on the horizon.

The Future Farming Investment Scheme (FFIS) opens for applications from 14th July to 22nd August 2025, and it’s one of the most generous support packages we’ve seen.

With up to 100% capital grant funding available, it’s a rare chance to make meaningful, funded upgrades to your farm, boosting efficiency, slashing emissions, and helping to future-proof your operation.

What’s on offer?

This £14 million Scottish Government fund is aimed squarely at improving productivity while supporting on-farm environmental change. You could receive up to:

  • £5,000 (≤ 30 ha)
  • £10,000 (30–150 ha)
  • £20,000 (> 150 ha)

…and the best part? There’s no minimum amount required to apply, making this a real opportunity for farms and crofts of all sizes.

What kind of projects are eligible?

While we’re still confirming whether our Agri-Stride hybrid flooring or other Wolfenden Concrete innovations qualify under FFIS, we believe this scheme is worth shouting about. It’s designed to support investments that:

  • Enhance sustainability
  • Improve animal welfare
  • Cut down on greenhouse gas emissions
  • Boost operational efficiency

That aligns perfectly with the work we do here at Wolfenden – particularly our Agri-Stride range, which is proven to reduce ammonia emissions by up to 60% and support better hoof health and productivity.

Why this matters now

Farmers are being asked to adapt to changing regulations, rising costs, and increasing pressure to reduce environmental impact. Grants like FFIS help ease the transition – giving you capital to invest in the right infrastructure without putting extra strain on cash flow.

Even if Agri-Stride products are not on the eligible item list yet, it’s still worth exploring your options, and we’re here to help however we can.

Quick checklist to apply:

  • Register with SGRPID
  • Submit your Single Application Form (SAF) by 15 May 2025
  • Apply online between 14 July and 22 August
  • Identify eligible equipment or infrastructure improvements
  • Projects must be completed within 9 months

You can learn more about FFIS on the Rural Payments Scotland website.
