PART OF THE FARMING TRANSFORMATION FUND

The slurry infrastructure grants are to replace, improve or expand your slurry storage capacity to six months and increase the use of organic nutrients on your farm – whether you are a land owning farmer or a tenant farmer.

Grant contributions should cover up to 50% of the current market costs of carrying out the work.

Minimum of £25,000 available, maximum of £250,000.


THE OBJECTIVE OF THE GRANTS:

Reduce greenhouse gas emissions

Improve water quality

Increase use of organic nutrients

Improve air quality, particularly by reducing emissions of the air pollutant ammonia

GRANT-ELIGIBLE SYSTEMS INCLUDE:


Cast-in L panel storage system

Grant contribution: £72.74 per m3

  • Designed using interlocking L panels
  • All joints sealed to prevent leakage
  • Constructed to meet SSAFO 2010
  • Lifespan of 20+ years
  • Can be used in fully submerged, partially submerged or fully above ground situations

Vertical cantilever storage unit

Grant contribution: £72.74 per m3

  • Designed using interlocking cantilever panels
  • All joints sealed to prevent leakage
  • Constructed to meet SSAFO 2010
  • Lifespan of 20+ years
  • Can be used in fully submerged, partially submerged or fully above ground situations

Under-floor transfer channels + slats

Grant contribution: £215.55 per m

Precast concrete slurry channel with tongue and groove or equivalent sealing system.
  • Includes solid or slatted topped lid with minimum 4t axle load
  • Minimum depth: 750mm
  • Minimum width: 1000mm

Fixed flexible cover

Grant contribution: £32.17 m2

Cover prevents water ingress and reduces ammonia emissions/life expectancy of at least 10 years/ material resistant to ammonia and stablised to UV.
